Ken Scurry – President
Ken began his career in the convention industry in 1986 as a driver and set up technician for one of the country’s first computer rental companies. Leasecomp, Inc.’s main service was short term rentals to software development companies at conventions and trade shows across the country. Ken joined another company, Hi-Tech Rentals, in 1990, moving into sales. He was quickly appointed Director of Sales becoming involved in the company’s focus of cross renting computers and data presentation monitors and quickly moving the company more into the audio visual field. Ken continued his success in sales for 6 years, subsequently leaving the company in 1996 to start his own company. CCR Events quickly witnessed rapid growth with dedicated clients such as America Online and Microsoft as well as many association related organizations. Ken has had the pleasure to work with and maintain the majority of these relationships for nearly 25 years since his beginnings at Leasecomp. In Ken’s spare time he enjoys the Florida Keys with his wife and 4 children as well as hunting and fishing on the family farm. He also enjoys cross country motorcycle touring with his brother and friends.
Jeff Scurry – Vice President
Jeff Scurry has been in the Audio Visual industry since 1998. After 20 years of service as a Mechanic/ Engineer at Northwest Airlines, Jeff took an early retirement the fall of 1998 and became President of (CPR) Corporate Presentation Resources. In 2002, CPR merged with parent company CCR Convention Presentation Services (now CCR Events) where Jeff holds the title of Vice President. Jeff has an associate’s degree in Business Administration from Clayton State College. Jeff is married and has four children. He enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing and motorcycling. Jeff and brother Ken Scurry along with several friends take an annual trip on their motorcycles each summer to the mid west.
Scott Lynch – General Manager
Scott began his career in 1988 with Leasecomp Inc. He started out delivering and setting up computers at trade shows and conventions across the country. He quickly moved on to Operations Manager. In 1991 he left Leasecomp and went to work for Hi-Tech Rentals where he continued as Operations manager and then moved up to account exec. In 1996 he left Hi-Tech along with Ken Scurry to start CCR Events. Ken and Scott have worked together for over 20 years and counting. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 children.
Dwayne Ison – Operations Manager
Dwayne moved to the Atlanta area in 1989 and began his career in the audio visual industry in 1990. He started out working for Projexions Video Supply delivering equipment to various hotels around Atlanta. He soon moved to operations, preparing orders and doing various repairs on equipment. In 1997 Projexions was purchased by Caribiner Audio Visual. Dwayne stayed on until 1999 at which time he was offered a position as Operations Manager with CCR Events. After 11 years and counting, nothing goes through the warehouse without getting his blessing. In his spare time he enjoys hunting and spending time with his wife and 2 children.
Patti Jackson – The Hub
After 24 years as an Administrative Assistant with Brunswick Recreation Centers, Patti Jackson joined CCR Events in 1999. Patti disseminates the information from client requirements into CCR’s state of the art inventory management system which enables the warehouse team to pull, prep and ship the equipment needed for an event. In addition she coordinates special events for select clients and processes CCR’s invoices. When she is not making sure that the show box is ready to go on the truck, Patti enjoys horseback riding and gardening.
Kerry Penney – Controller
Kerry has been CCR Events’ Controller since 1998, having served in a similar position for one of Atlanta’s major exhibit houses for the previous five years. She is a native Atlantan and prior to her positions in private industry, Kerry spent ten years as a tax auditor. She has four sons and two grandchildren, all of whom keep her very busy. Kerry enjoys gardening, fine dining and weekend escapes
Tim Lynch – Account Executive
After 20 years in the automotive industry, Tim decided to shift gears and try something new. He called his brother Scott and asked if CCR Events had any openings. So in 2001 he began his new career in the audio visual industry. He started out delivering equipment and helping out in the warehouse. He quickly learned all he could and started traveling and setting up trade shows across the country. This is where Tim found his calling and he continues to take care of CCR Events clients to this day. When he is not traveling he enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Krystal Joiner - National Account Manager
Krystal manages CCR Events national sales efforts and new business development. She is the first person from CCR that many of our clients have contact with. She handles the critical role of building the relationship and earning the trust of our clients. Her responsibilities include projecting the event scope and developing budgets for new clients and long time clients. She also works with clients on the creative and technical aspects of their show. This includes developing specific, individualized solutions for their event. Before coming to CCR Events she worked for Saga Communications as an Account Executive. Her skills consisted of campaign development, copywriting, selling radio air time, voice production, handling live broadcast remotes and promotions, and growing revenue for her clients. She is currently engaged to Kevin Davis and is just getting settled into their new house with their only child (Dog) Sullivan “Sully” Joiner.
Jim Minter – Sales Director
Jim was born in Florida and grew up in Atlantic Beach outside of Jacksonville. He was lucky enough to grow up right on the beach and spend most of his time swimming, surfing, sailing or fishing. He attended Florida State University in Tallahassee, fell in love with computers and moved to Seattle to build a computer training team. He returned to the South to work in computer film/video editing which evolved into film and video production, post production, interactive development, 3D animation and websites. He has worked as a project team member, project manager, company manager, and sales representative. In 2008, he joined CCR Events to manage the sales team. When Jim is not working, he is spending as much time outdoors as possible with his girlfriend Lisa. The rest of his time is spent trying to stay a step ahead of his lovely twelve year old daughter, Isabella.
Suzanne Barger – Event Administrator
Suzanne is CCR’s lead Event Administrator. She is responsible for working with team members to create the organizational backbone for each of the trade shows. She is involved in business development, planning and budgeting, team development, logistical execution and post show debriefing with staff and clients. Before coming to CCR Events, she worked for Furukawa, Inc. as their Collections Coordinator. Her work involved monitoring accounts payable with the accounting team and the customer service team and contacting all clients whose accounts were in arrears to arrange payment details or initiate legal action as required. In her spare time, she likes to play golf under an assumed name so she can keep her amateur status. When not playing golf, she squeezes in time for her husband, Todd, and children, Lauren and Zachary.
